Alois Pöschmann had a formative influence on DAHW as Treasurer and later as President. He was a role model for many people because of his "passion for the weak" and his personal commitment resulting from this passion. People in this One World, in the numerous project countries of DAHW have lost a friend and supporter.
For 25 years, Alois Pöschmann was responsible for the finances of the Association as voluntary Treasurer. As early as 1972, he set up a leprosy centre in Sudan as technical adviser. He was the President of DAHW from 2004 until 2009. In 2002, Alois Pöschmann was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his many years of voluntary work for people suffering from leprosy and tuberculosis.
DAHW is deeply indebted to its Honorary President and will honour his memory.
